Kenyatta University Economics Students Association in partnership with Global Ripple Mentorship Company held a very successful community outreach service on 29th October, 2016 at Gathaithi Orphans and Vulnerable Centre and Hossana Children's Home in Kiambu County.
The group had interactive sessions with Children from the two homes. The group participated in Environmental cleanup, laundry, cooking and outdoor games. Children from the two homes and a nearby Gathaithi Primary School benefited from mentorship sessions facilitated by KUESA.
There was entertainment from the happy family of Gathaithi, Hossana children's home and also from Kenyatta University Economics Student Associations.
KUESA donated the following items to Gathaithi Orphans and Vulnerable Centre: School fees Cheques worth Ksh 20,000, food items, cereals and personal items worth Ksh 100,000.
In addition, KUESA donated secondary school fees worth Ksh.9, 150, food items, clothing, personal items and learning materials worth Ksh. 60,000 to Hosanna Children’s Home.
The Manager, Hossana children's home highlighted to the participants the importance of good morals and also inspired the Students through her life story and experiences.
The Dean School of Economics is grateful that KUESA has managed to give a helping hand to the needy Children in these homes. As a school, we are so proud of KUESA and Economics students in general.
