The Magical Kenya Tourism Expo 2024 was officially opened on Wednesday, 2nd October, 2024 by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya.

The highlights were:-

  • The value of Kenya’s tourism industry to the economy;
  • The role of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo as a reliable platform for business-to-business meetings, connecting African tourism leaders with global buyers and linking Kenyan businesses with actors in the international market;
  • The Kenya Government’s interventions such as upgrading transport networks, streamlining the issuance of travel documents, and enhancing security had led to sustained growth of the tourism sector;
  • The Kenya Government has created a conducive environment to attract investments in the hospitality and tourism sector while showcasing niche products such as culture, sports, innovations and archaeological treasures;
  • The Kenya Government will introduce a transit and long-connection travelers’ electronic travel authorization system to allow travelers in transit to step out of the airport and visit nearby tourism attractions; and
  • The Government of Kenya has introduced a Digital Nomad Work Permit designed for global digital professionals, enabling them to live and work while enjoying the country’s tourism attractions.
