Introduction
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program offers specializations in Strategic Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or Human Resource Management. Entry Requirements
Candidates must possess one of the following: i) A non-executive Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree or its equivalent in Business from Kenyatta University or any other institution recognized by Kenyatta University Senate. ii) A Masters degree from Kenyatta University in areas of specialization relevant to disciplines in the School of Business or any other institution recognized by the Kenyatta University Senate.
Mode and Structure of Delivery
The programme is offered in full-time mode only.
The programme consists of two main components:
- Coursework component: Taught courses in advanced theories and research methodologies
- Research component: Independent research culminating in a doctoral thesis
Programme Duration
- Full-time students: Minimum of 3 years, maximum of 4 years
- Total units: 17 (9 coursework units + 8 thesis units)
- Students take a maximum of 3 and minimum of 2 coursework units per semester in the first year
- The thesis phase begins after successful completion of coursework
